The Hennepin County Adult Detention Center (ADC) is operated by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and serves as the primary booking and intake jail for the county. The facility is located in the downtown Minneapolis Public Safety Facility at 401 South 4th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55415, with additional housing connected to Minneapolis City Hall. Hennepin County operates two distinct corrections facilities that are often confused. The Adult Detention Center in downtown Minneapolis is the jail—it handles booking, intake, and pretrial detention.
