Hot Spring County Mugshots & Booking Records

Hot Spring County took its name from the famous thermal springs at Hot Springs, but those springs have belonged to neighboring Garland County since 1873, when spa-town residents tired of the long trip to the county seat broke away. What remained centers on Malvern, the self-styled Brick Capital of the World, and the Ouachita River that winds through the wooded hills of south-central Arkansas.
Every arrest in Hot Spring County passes through the Hot Spring County Detention Center at 215 East Highland Street in Malvern, which the Hot Spring County Sheriff's Office runs out of the same building as its main office. Deputies book people picked up countywide, along with anyone handed over by Malvern police or by state troopers patrolling Interstate 30 and U.S. 270. Booking creates the public record for each case — a photo, the alleged offenses, and, after a judge weighs in, a bond figure. The website lists everyone currently held plus a 48-hour log of recent releases, and a call to (501) 337-7738 will tell you if a particular person is still behind bars.
About Hot Spring County
Clark County gave up the land for Hot Spring County on November 2, 1829, making it the eighteenth county organized in Arkansas, and it took its name from the thermal springs that once drew travelers here. Those springs slipped off the local map in April 1873, when residents of the booming resort town won a county of their own and carried the city of Hot Springs into the new Garland County, which is why the spa and its national park now sit one county to the north. Malvern, plotted along the Cairo and Fulton Railroad that same year, became the seat and later staked its claim as the Brick Capital of the World: clay pits nearby have fed brick kilns since 1887, and an Acme plant still turns out bricks by the million. Past Malvern and Rockport the county opens into timber, farmland, and the mineral pocket of Magnet Cove, where geologists have catalogued more than forty mineral species, a handful of them found almost nowhere else on Earth.
