Columbia County Mugshots & Booking Records
The 1906 Columbia County Courthouse on the square in Magnolia, the county seat.

Magnolia grew up around two engines that still shape Columbia County: the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University, whose football players once rode mules to practice, and the bromine plants that draw chemical-rich brine from beneath the pine flats. Every May the courthouse square fills for the Magnolia Blossom Festival and its World Championship Steak Cook-Off, while the county sheriff books arrests from across Columbia County.
The Columbia County Detention Facility stands at 82 Columbia Road 300 in Magnolia, the jail the Columbia County Sheriff's Office runs for the whole county. People picked up by deputies, Magnolia police, and state troopers along U.S. 82 and U.S. 79 are booked here. Its online roster shows current detainees alongside a 72-hour intake list, and you can search it by name without driving to the building. About Columbia County
Columbia County was carved from Lafayette, Hempstead, Ouachita, and Union counties on December 17, 1852, and took its name from Columbia, the old female personification of the United States. Magnolia has served as the seat from the start, centered on a 1906 courthouse on the downtown square; McNeil, Waldo, Emerson, and Taylor are the other towns scattered across roughly 766 square miles that hold about 22,800 residents.
Three things drive the local economy: a campus, a chemical, and a forest. Southern Arkansas University, chartered in 1909 as the Third District Agricultural School and the reason Magnolia roots for the Muleriders, enrolls more than three thousand students just north of town. Beneath the surface, plants have pumped bromine from the Smackover brine since the 1960s, working the same south-Arkansas field that Columbia shares with Union County on its eastern line, while pine timber still feeds mills near Waldo and Emerson.
