Ouachita County Mugshots & Booking Records
The 1847 McCollum-Chidester House in Camden, used as Union General Frederick Steele's headquarters during the 1864 Camden Expedition and now a county museum.

Camden began as Ecore a Fabre, a French trader's bluff above a horseshoe bend in the Ouachita River, then grew into the steamboat Queen City that floated tens of thousands of cotton bales toward New Orleans. Today the same county seat anchors Highland Industrial Park, a sprawling defense and aerospace complex, while its sheriff books arrests from across Ouachita County.
Anyone arrested in Ouachita County is booked into the county detention center at 109 Goodgame Street in Camden, which the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office operates. Deputies bring in suspects alongside Camden and Bearden police and Arkansas State Police troopers, and the jail holds them while charges are filed and bond is decided. Two public sources track who is inside: the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office at ouachitacountysheriff.org and the statewide ISOMS inmate portal, which lists current detainees by name. About Ouachita County
Lawmakers carved Ouachita County out of Union County in 1842 and borrowed the name of the Ouachita River, which curls past Camden on a high bluff. The seat first answered to Ecore a Fabre, a French trading post, until steamboats made it a cotton wharf so busy that traders dubbed it the Queen City of the Ouachita. Timber and a 1928 paper mill followed the boats, and an oil boom swept the county's southern reaches in the 1920s. The county's signature employer today is Highland Industrial Park in East Camden, raised on the closed Shumaker Naval Ammunition Depot, where defense and aerospace manufacturers turn out hardware for the U.S. military. The Civil War left its mark as well: the 1864 Camden Expedition turned bloody just west of town at Poison Spring, preserved now as a state park. Neighboring dockets sit a click away in Union County to the south, Dallas County to the north, and Calhoun County to the east, or step back to the Arkansas booking records hub for the rest of the state.
