Pope County anchors Arkansas's River Valley around Russellville, a city that runs on two unlikely neighbors: Arkansas Tech University and Arkansas Nuclear One, the state's only nuclear plant. Roughly 63,000 people live here. This page gathers Pope County mugshots and booking details, drawing from the sheriff's jail records so you can see who was recently arrested across the area.
The Pope County Detention Center stands at #3 Emergency Lane in Russellville, where the Pope County Sheriff's Office runs day-to-day operations. The jail books people taken in by sheriff's deputies, Russellville police, and officers from smaller communities such as Atkins, Dover, and Pottsville, moving each person through intake, charging, and bond. Every booking generates a file — a photo, the listed charges, and bond status — and the office maintains an up-to-date online inmate roster the public can search. Booking photos and arrest details are open under Arkansas's public-records law, and you can also scan recent local arrests on our Pope County mugshots grid.
About Pope County
Carved from former Cherokee reservation land on November 2, 1829, Pope County took its name from John Pope, the territory's third governor. Dover held the county seat until an 1887 election handed it to Russellville, which has since grown into the Arkansas River Valley's commercial center and home to roughly 63,000 residents. Two landmarks set the county apart: Arkansas Tech University, which opened to students in 1910 and still drives the local economy, and Arkansas Nuclear One — the state's only operational nuclear plant — humming a few miles west of town as one of the area's largest employers. Farming towns and river trade fill in the rest of the map. Pope shares its western boundary with Johnson County, faces Yell County on the opposite bank of the Arkansas River, and meets Van Buren County along its eastern edge.
