Mississippi County Mugshots & Booking Records

Mississippi County occupies the far northeastern tip of Arkansas, where the Mississippi River traces the state line across miles of flat Delta farmland. It is one of the rare Arkansas counties governed from two courthouses, with Osceola serving as the original seat and Blytheville anchoring the northern Chickasawba District. Once cotton country, it has since grown into one of the nation's leading steel-producing counties.
Arrests across Mississippi County are booked into the Mississippi County Detention Center, which the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office runs at 685 North County Road 599 in Luxora, a central spot between the county's two seats. The jail takes in people arrested by sheriff's deputies and by city officers from Blytheville, Osceola, Gosnell, Manila, and Leachville, along with Arkansas State Police troopers working the Interstate 55 corridor. Each booking adds the arrest charges, the bond amount, and a jail mug shot to the county's public records.
To check who is being held, the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office keeps an online inmate roster, searchable by name, that lists current charges and booking dates, and the jail takes bond and release questions at (870) 740-8608. Our Mississippi County mugshots page gathers the county's most recent bookings in one spot, spanning Blytheville and Osceola as well as the smaller Delta communities.
About Mississippi County
Created in 1833 and named for the river along its eastern edge, Mississippi County has kept its unusual twin-seat government for more than a century. Osceola, incorporated in 1843, held the first courthouse, and Blytheville won a second one after a contested 1901 election that created the Chickasawba District. Blytheville is now the larger city, while Osceola, Manila, Leachville, Wilson, and Gosnell fill out a county of roughly 40,700 residents. For generations the economy here turned on Delta cotton, but since the 1980s it has been reshaped by steel, with mills run by Nucor, Nucor-Yamato, and Big River Steel making this one of the country's largest steel-producing counties. Mississippi County also guards a piece of American music history at Dyess, the New Deal farm colony where Johnny Cash spent his boyhood and which survives today as a restored heritage site. Its western neighbor is Craighead County and the city of Jonesboro, while Crittenden County lies to the south toward Memphis. Arrests from elsewhere in the state are indexed on the Arkansas mugshots hub.
