Dallas County Mugshots & Booking Records
Dallas County Courthouse in Adel — county seat of Iowa's fastest-growing county

Waukee was once a small farming town. Today it is one of the largest communities in Iowa, and Dallas County—its home—has been the state's fastest-growing county for over a decade. Approximately 110,000 people now live west of Des Moines in a county that has more than doubled in population since 2000.
The Dallas County Jail serves as the booking facility for all arrests within the county, processing detainees from the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, the West Des Moines Police Department, the Waukee Police Department, the Adel Police Department, and other local law enforcement agencies. The facility is operated by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office and is located in Adel, the county seat.
Dallas County maintains public access to booking records in accordance with Iowa's Open Records Law. The sheriff's office provides information on current inmates, and all booking records including photographs are available upon request. As one of Iowa's fastest-growing counties, Dallas County has seen increasing demand on its detention facility and has expanded its public safety infrastructure to keep pace with population growth.
About Dallas County
Dallas County has been the fastest-growing county in Iowa for over a decade, driven by suburban expansion from the Des Moines metropolitan area. Waukee, once a small town, has grown into one of the largest communities in the state, and West Des Moines (which spans parts of Dallas and Polk counties) has become a major commercial and corporate center. The county's population has more than doubled since 2000.
Despite its rapid growth, Dallas County retains significant agricultural land in its western portions. The county's transition from a rural agricultural county to a suburban bedroom community has created a unique law enforcement environment, where the sheriff's office and growing municipal police departments handle both urban-suburban crime patterns and rural calls for service. The county's proximity to Des Moines and its position along Interstate 80 also contribute to its law enforcement activity.
